This is our ninth year of operation as an NSA and ASA sanctioned travelng team. We are providing an opportunity for our local youth to travel outside the community and compete at a higher level. It is our belief that the girls will benefit from fundamental, competitive, and enjoyment perspectives.
In our 9 seasons we have competed in NSA, USSSA, and ASA sanctioned tournaments and we truly believe that this type of enrichment will benefit the girls from a fundamental, competitive, and enjoyment perspectives. Our organization began with one team in 2005. That year as a 10 & Under team, the Indiana Thunder was the NSA Class B World Series Champions and the ASA Class A Indiana State Champions. In 2006, the 10U was the class A State Champion and finished 4th in the National Tournament with the 12U finishing 2nd in the State and 7th in the Nationals. In 2007, we fielded a team in three age divisions, winning an amazing 17 tournaments, including 5 different state titles. The 12U team won the NSA Northern World Series and the 10U group won the ASA/USA National tournament. In 2008, our 12U Class A team won the ASA Class A Nationals and our Class B 12U team finished third at the Northern Nationals. Our 14U team won the Class A ASA state title. 2009 saw strong teams in both the 10U and 14U teams. The 10U became the B North State Champions, and both teams capped off the year competing in the USSSA World Series in Orlando, Florida. 2010 saw Indiana Thunder field 3 strong teams in the 10U, 12U, and 14U divisions. The 12U team capped off the season with a 7th place finish at the NSA Class B World Series. 2011 was a great year, as Thunder fielded 5 teams (10U, 11U, 12U, 14U and 16U). In 2012 Thunder saw 10u, 12u, 14u (2), and 16u teams. 2013 begins our new 8u team as well as two 12u and two 16u teams.
The emphasis remains fundamentals and team chemistry as well as understanding how to handle competitive situations. We have established a landmark foundation of success for girls in our area.
Your support would be appreciated to alleviate some of the cost to the families. Unfortunately, several girls who would like to participate are unable do to the financial commitment. Getting sponsorships will allow us to divert family costs and make this an opportunity more athletes can take advantage of.
